One year ago today...

Last year I remember being so anxious! BOY or GIRL?

We decided to have a gender reveal party to find out what we were having.

YOU are invited to our party!

I went to the doctor that day and told the ultrasound tech to write on a note card what we were having and then put it in a secure envelope.

We waited ALL DAY! I wasn't even tempted to look in the envelope....ok maybe a little! But I was strong and didn't.

I went to my neighbors house and told her to call a lady from church who makes amazing cakes! I waited downstairs while she went upstairs, opened the envelope and told her what it was so she could make a cake with either pink or blue frosting in the middle.

I wore pink and Grant wore blue.  We had everyone who came dress in the color they thought this baby might be :)

And so you all know the outcome! Maybe, unless you are new :) But this video reveals it all!!

Such a fun surprise and way to find out!

Tis the season...

Finally! Today was in the 80's and it felt W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L :)

For most, 80 is their summer, but here in AZ it is the beginning of our fall...

Now that Fall seems to have officially begun, here are some of my favorite things of the season!

My favorite drink ever!! Salted caramel hot chocolate.  Do it!

Flying to California to see the in-laws

Not only do I love these things pictured, but I love comfy sweaters, extra snuggles, snow (when we drive to go see it), extra family gatherings, giving, making goodies, eating WAY too much and just enjoying the season.  

It goes by too fast!

7 months

I wish I would have let you sleep on me more.  Now all you want to do is crawl everywhere and pull to stand on anything you can reach

You were only a little more than a month old when you went to your uncles wedding and I remember being so scared to fly with you and you were amazing and slept the whole time :)

You love to be outside and swing!

You want to be where all the action is, even if it includes laundry! You are one happy girl

The last 7 months have been the hardest yet most rewarding months of my life. You are such a blessing and I cannot believe that you are closer to being a year old than you are a newborn! 

      Currently you love:        

*pulling to stand

*sweet potatoes

*my cell phone

*walks in your stroller

*gerber puffs

*your fingers :)

Currently you are not too much of a fan of:

*car rides (you don't like to be strapped in)

*sitting still

*any green vegetables

*your naps

*having those darn teeth pop through

Goodies

Oh do I have some fun ideas in store! I just bought some new glitter elastic, flowers, buttons and ribbon.  

The creative juices are flowing...

Emrie,

How are you always so happy? I love this about you.  I love that when I am tired, down, or just not in a good mood I look at you and this is the face I see.  You have no care in the world (ok maybe those teeth that are coming in you care about), but even when I can tell you are uncomfortable or not feeling great, you still have a smile to share.

You don't love sleep, you are a people person.  I think you feel you might miss something if you sleep too long.  So I put you in your crib and all you want to do is practice standing and possibly some flips or something, fall asleep for a little while and then are ready to play and laugh again.  You are one active little girl.

Oh how I love you miss Emrie.  Thanks for being an example to me.  I pray that you will always be happy and find your joy in the Lord!

Psalm 2:11

"Serve the Lord with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling."

Reverent: feeling or showing profound respect

Trembling: shake involuntary--usually out of excitement

I have read and heard this verse so many times, but when reading it again the other day it really hit me.  Do I serve the lord with profound respect?  Do I rejoice in Him everyday with excitement?

My prayer is that this verse would be so true in my life.  I pray that I would serve Him everyday--good or bad.  I pray that I would rejoice with excitement when I am happy and when I am down.
