Organizing.

One of my goals as a mom and wife is to become more organized.

I decided to create a home management binder to keep things more organized and all in one place. It has helped already and it's only been 2 days! :)

I first saw the idea HERE and knew I had to do it. Her version is awesome.  Mine is still a work in progress, but for those of you wanting to get a little more organized, I will give you a peek into mine and where I got some of the printables for it!

I got this binder from walmart for $3.00

Here is the first thing I see when I open up my binder.  I put it in a sheet protector and use a dry erase marker instead of having to print a bunch week after week.

I bought dividers to categorize the sections I wanted:
Calendar
Cleaning
Menu Plan
Medical
Finances

This allows me to input birthday, upcoming events and anything else we have scheduled.  I have the whole year printed.

Next is cleaning! OH boy! :) This is great because I put it in a sheet protector as well and can check off for the week and then erase and reuse.

Next is meal planning.  This is new to me, but has been awesome! I have saved so much money by planning out our meals for the week.  This printable is nice because it allows you to figure out meals and then put what you need right near it.

I also have started doing our groceries at walmart and just found out that if you take any ads from any other groceries they will price match! Wow! Where have I been? So during the week I just put different things I would buys in the sheet protector and circle the deal.  When I go to the cash register, I show them the ad and they give me that price!

Next in my binder is medical.  This is where I put all our different dr's info, insurance info, copies of med records and also any medical bills we owe....which we have quite a few from our little ICU trip with Emrie :)

Last, we have our finance section.  No need to show you all of our money stuff :) But that is where I keep a spreadsheet of our monthly bills and what we owe on everything.  I also have our budget for the month as we just starting doing the cash method and dividing things up into envelopes.  This will help us not spend needlessly and try to save and pay things off quicker.

It is still a work in progress, but so far I am loving feeling a little more organized and having everything all in one place.

I do the cash method as well, and i love it. I even do my kids allowance that way, so they have their own envelope and they love checking it.

I absolutely love this idea! I'm an organizing freak. I may actually have a problem. I'm one of those "Oh...you have a monthly calendar for meetings, work, etc.; a planner for school assignments; AND a weekly calendar scheduling every hour of your week?" people. Haha. If you ever need any organizing tips, I'd love to share!

I need to jump on the binder band wagon and print those cute printables! Great job doing that.
I love the cash in envelopes concept..I somehow forget to do that each month, and I know it could save bundles!
Love this Idea : )
